What You Do Will Follow You
No one thinks ahead anymore
beyond their unprincipled behavior,
beyond their causes and their battles
to a time when they'll meet their savior.
The apprehension, distrust, and doubt
that their words of guile inflict
are offset by their actions,
which tenaciously contradict.
The oaths they made to God
are uniformly derelict.
Henchmen along for the ride
are branded by their predation.
And after their master falls,
they'll suffer the association.
And if they dare think otherwise,
they have a delusional expectation.
It is not our job to cast judgment,
nor speak softly and carry big sticks.
We should speak loudly and proudly
and keep our eyes open for their tricks.
All of these amoral power junkies
will have their face-to-face one day.
Karma has no master,
and kismet doesn’t play.
